1. Russia Plans to Attract 12,000 North Korean Workers to Manufacture Suicide Drones

▶ ▶ Summary of the Article
Russia plans to attract 12,000 North Korean workers by the end of this year to produce suicide drones, according to Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Directorate (GUR). The GUR also stated that Russia plans to host these North Korean personnel in a special economic zone located about 800 km east of Moscow. The GUR explained that Moscow has promised to pay the North Korean labor about $2.5 per hour (approx. 3,600 KRW), and the workers' hours are expected to be at least 12 hours or more per day.
Russia and North Korea are strengthening military cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un last June. Russia retook the Kursk region in August of last year with the help of North Korean troops. Recently, North Korean engineers have been conducting mine clearance operations in the area alongside Russian engineers. North Korea has also supplied various weapons to Russia, including artillery shells, cannons, and missiles.

"For he who avenges blood remembers them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted" (Psalm 9:12, NIV)
ᅬ Russia has announced a plan to attract 12,000 North Korean workers by the end of the year to produce suicide drones. Lord, please protect the lives and safety of the 12,000 North Korean workers being sent to Russia. Especially, please protect the North Korean workers from losing their lives or being injured while producing suicide drones and clearing mines.
ᅬ Have mercy on the North Korean residents who must work a minimum of 12 hours or more a day in Russian military weapons factories for the sake of foreign currency earned by the three-generation hereditary dictatorship of Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, and Kim Jong-un. May international monitoring and condemnation continue to rise so that the human rights abuses faced by North Korean residents in harsh working conditions can be properly corrected.
ᅬ May all military cooperation and arms trade, including artillery shells, missiles, and nuclear development technology, as well as illegal collaboration between Russia and North Korea, cease immediately. May the Russia-Ukraine war quickly come to an end so that North Korean residents are no longer sacrificed in the war.
2. North Korea's Choe Son Hui: "Condemn and Reject G7 Denuclearization Statement... Will Remain Faithful to Nuclear Possession"

▶ ▶ Summary of the Article In response to a statement by the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) nations, including the United States, reaffirming the principle of "complete denuclearization of North Korea," North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui released a statement titled, "The G7 has no right to defy the sovereign choice of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea." In it, she declared, "We resolutely condemn and reject [it] using the strongest rhetorical expressions."
Foreign Minister Choe vehemently expressed "strong displeasure and regret over the G7 foreign ministers' outright hostile act that constitutes a direct infringement upon the constitution of our state." She further emphasized, "The way to ensure peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region is not by advocating the unrealistic 'denuclearization' but by respecting the constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
North Korea's strong pushback against the G7's denuclearization demand is interpreted as an attempt to establish its status as a nuclear-armed state as a fait accompli, thereby guiding any future potential US-DPRK dialogue toward nuclear arms reduction talks.

"Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceitfully. With their mouths they speak peace to their neighbors, but in their hearts they harbor malice" (Jeremiah 9:8, NIV)
ᅬ North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui strongly condemned and rejected the G7's statement on the principle of "complete denuclearization of North Korea," expressing strong displeasure and regret. Lord, please cause North Korea to turn away from its intention to cling to its nuclear-armed status and steer the conversation toward nuclear arms reduction talks. May North Korea become a responsible member of the international community.
ᅬ Lord, please take charge of the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asian region.
ᅬ Guide the President and the responsible government officials, including those in the Ministry of Unification, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of National Defense, to implement appropriate policies toward North Korea that can lead it to denuclearization.
3. [Reading North Korea] Three Children Die at Pyongsong Secondary School — What is the Problem?

The Rodong Sinmun, the organ of the North Korean Workers' Party, reported on January 9th, highlighting the children of the Pyongsong Secondary School (Pyeongseong Jungdeung Hakwon), saying, "They are expressing endless pride and happiness for highly upholding Father Marshal (Kim Jong Un)." /Photo=Rodong Sinmun/News1
▶ ▶ Summary of the Article
According to a source in South Pyongan Province, there has been a recent surge in children suffering from malnutrition in North Korea's provinces. The source reported that three children from the Pyongsong Secondary School were recently transported to a hospital in an unconscious state due to malnutrition and ultimately died.
Most of the children at Pyongsong Secondary School are not consuming enough food or essential nutrients like vitamins and minerals. As a result, they are reportedly suffering from weight loss, fatigue, lethargy, and showing symptoms like muscle atrophy due to protein deficiency, resulting in thin arms and legs, hair loss, and swelling of the hands and feet.
The level of diet in group living facilities in North Korea is known to be so poor that it can only be described as "the worst." Orphans living in dormitories at primary or secondary schools have almost no access to protein foods like meat or dalgyal (eggs) and cannot even eat their fill of nutritionally poor gangnaengi (corn) rice. Poor nutritional status weakens the immune system, making children vulnerable to various diseases, and often leads to slow or impossible recovery, resulting in death.

"He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free, the Lord protects the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the orphan, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin" (Psalm 146:7, 9, ESV)
ᅬ The news has been reported that three children from the Pyongsong Secondary School in South Pyongan Province recently died due to malnutrition. Lord, have mercy on the North Korean children who are suffering from a lack of food, leading to malnutrition-related weight loss, fatigue, lethargy, thin arms and legs due to protein deficiency and muscle loss, hair loss, and swelling of the hands and feet, and who are even dying. Please protect their lives and health.
ᅬ May the poor diet and health environment in group living facilities like primary and secondary schools, especially orphanages, which are at the "worst" dietary level, be quickly improved.
ᅬ May the way be wide open to directly help the North Korean people, rather than the three-generation hereditary dictatorship of North Korea. May the faithful in South Korean churches and overseas Korean diaspora churches pray earnestly for the liberation, freedom, and freedom of worship for the North Korean people to hear the Gospel and be saved.
