1. "Find the Crushing Machine"—Kim Jong-un Fears Public Reaction… If Mutilated Corpses Are Revealed, It’s ‘Dangerous’
▶ ▶ Article Summary
There are reports that North Korea is looking into freezing and crushing corpses using cryogenic equipment after refusing to repatriate the bodies of its soldiers who died in the Ukraine war. This cryogenic disposal method, which involves freezing and pulverizing the bodies, is difficult to justify from a humanitarian perspective. It appears that the North Korean authorities are considering this method because they fear the social repercussions if the families of the deceased soldiers see their mutilated remains.
Regarding the analysis that some North Korean troops deployed in Kursk, Russia, might collectively surrender, Professor Kim Jae-cheon of Sogang University’s Graduate School of International Studies stated that the likelihood is low. However, if such a mass surrender were to occur, it would result in a loss of combat power for Russia and lead to a decline in the international standing of both Russia and North Korea, Professor Kim added.

"From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on the earth." (Psalm 33:13-14)
○ The North Korean authorities, who are concealing from their people the fact that North Korean troops have been deployed to Russia, are refusing to return the bodies of fallen soldiers to their families out of fear of social unrest. Instead, they are looking into cryogenic crushing equipment to dispose of the remains. Even though it is only right to return the bodies to their families, North Korean citizens under this murderous dictatorship are denied even the most basic human rights. Lord, have mercy on our brethren in the North.
○ May the international community condemn and pressure the North Korean regime for its heinous human rights abuses against its own soldiers and their families. May those responsible face due consequences, and may these inhumane treatments of North Korean soldiers come to an end.
○ Lord, may the power of death that covers the land of North Korea be broken by the blood of Jesus. Let the Juche ideology of Kim Il-sung, the three-generation hereditary dictatorship, and its deification system come to an end swiftly.

Kevin Kim, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, who oversees U.S. policy on the Korean Peninsula, addressed concerns that South Korea might be sidelined in U.S. foreign policy due to its domestic political instability. He stated, “There is no such thing as ‘Korea passing’ in Trump’s North Korea policy,” emphasizing that the U.S. has great interest and expectations for South Korea.
Kim, a Korean-American, participated in North Korea denuclearization negotiations during the 2019 Hanoi U.S.-North Korea summit as an aide to Stephen Biegun, the then U.S. Special Representative for North Korea and Deputy Secretary of State. As the key official handling North Korea policy in Trump’s second-term administration, he is expected to play a central role in new nuclear negotiations with North Korea.
Kim stated that he has dealt with Korean Peninsula issues in Washington, D.C., for 20 years and noted that “the attitude and expectations of high-ranking officials in Washington towards South Korea have completely changed,” adding that “South Korea no longer needs to worry about being overlooked.”
President Trump recently hinted at the possibility of resuming nuclear negotiations with North Korea. In diplomatic circles, even if U.S.-North Korea talks proceed bilaterally, it is expected that Russia and China will be directly or indirectly involved. It is seen as inevitable that Russian President Vladimir Putin will play a role in bringing Kim Jong-un to the negotiating table. Additionally, as North Korea and Russia deepen their ties, China, feeling relatively neglected, is making efforts to expand its contact points with North Korea.

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." (Proverbs 15:22)
○ The official in charge of North Korea policy under the second Trump administration assured that South Korea does not need to worry about being sidelined due to domestic political instability and highlighted the country’s elevated international status. We thank God for establishing South Korea as a free democratic nation founded on Christian principles, for granting it economic prosperity known as the "Miracle on the Han River," and for allowing it to flourish in various sectors of society.
○ As the U.S. and North Korea resume negotiations on North Korean denuclearization, may the talks lead to the cessation of North Korea’s development of weapons of mass destruction and focus instead on improving the lives of its people. May South Korea, as a key stakeholder, play an appropriate role in this process.
○ May God oversee the international situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula. Strengthen the U.S.-South Korea alliance and the trilateral security cooperation among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, ensuring that multilateral diplomatic efforts continue to contribute to international security cooperation.
3. South Korea’s National Intelligence Service: “North Korea Sends Additional Troops to Russia, Redeploying to Kursk… Estimated Over 1,000”

▶ ▶ Article Summary
South Korean intelligence authorities revealed that North Korea has deployed over 1,000 additional troops to the Russian front in Kursk, with the exact number still being assessed. This move is believed to be a reinforcement following heavy casualties among the first group of North Korean soldiers deployed in combat.
North Korea had initially sent between 11,000 and 12,000 troops to Russia in October last year. By January this year, around 4,000 were reported to have been either wounded or killed. Given that military doctrine typically calls for force reorganization when 20–30% of a unit is lost, it appears North Korea has sent reinforcements accordingly.
Previously, Ukraine reported that North Korean troops withdrew from the frontlines for about three weeks starting in mid-January but returned to the battlefield around February 7. Despite the Trump administration initiating negotiations to end the Ukraine war, North Korea proceeded with additional troop deployments. This suggests that, despite suffering significant troop losses, North Korea sees Russia’s compensation as highly beneficial to its regime. If the ceasefire talks are prolonged, there is a possibility that North Korea may continue sending more troops.

"For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted." (Psalm 9:12)
○ Despite over 4,000 casualties among its troops in Kursk, North Korea has recently deployed more than 1,000 additional soldiers to Russia in exchange for economic and military support. Lord, have mercy on the young North Koreans who, without understanding the full situation, are forcibly sent far from home to serve as cannon fodder in a foreign war.
○ Protect the lives and health of the North Korean soldiers deployed in Russia. May the Russia-Ukraine war come to an end swiftly so that North Korea is no longer able to send additional troops.
○ Although Kim Jong-un promotes himself as a benevolent leader, he sacrifices the lives of young soldiers to maintain his regime and power. Lord, open the eyes of North Korean citizens so they may recognize the brutal reality of this murderous hereditary dictatorship.
